What can I say about Razorblade Tears? Probably a lot of nothing, since the book, from start to finish, left me speechless. Never before have I slammed the five-star rating button so hard as I did when I finished this book.
It's such a twisty literary thriller that if I tried to explain the plot in any meaningful way, there would be spoilers. So I'll leave it at this: It's a realistically-written, violent, powerful, impactful, searing take on culturally-embedded racism, homophobia, and the ties that bind. It feels like it should be mandatory reading.
I'm eagerly looking to get my hands on Blacktop Wasteland by S.A. Cosby, and I will be reading anything else he writes. If you haven't had the chance to read Razorblade Tears, I absolutely recommend it. I think it may have single-handedly ruined the thriller genre for me. Nothing can compare.
