Huge thanks to Berkley and PRH Audio for the ARC! Brianna is the kind of teacher who’s all in to her school, the kids she teaches, and especially the library. So when the principal decides to prioritize a football field over upgrading the library, Brianna is understandably frustrated. To make her point, she teams up with other teachers for a summer-long competition where they simulate life on Mars. Think... isolation for six weeks, one tent (or space pod?), and plenty of forced proximity.

Enter Roman, the principal’s son, and her personal annoyance. Their tension throughout the simulation was chef's kiss. The slow burn, their back and forth bikering, and the undeniable chemistry they share as they try to make the mission work was so fun to read. Brianna thinks Roman is there to sabotage the whole thing, but it quickly becomes clear that he’s a lot more than just the principal’s son. As they work together, Brianna starts seeing a different side of him, and I couldn’t get enough of it.

The romance was sweet, funny, and had just the right amount of tension. I loved how their relationship evolved, and the whole idea of a Mars simulation just added this unique twist that made the book stand out.
