Blowfish by Kyung-ran Jo

3.0

Blowfish was a quiet, introspective read that took its time unfolding. I really loved the writing—so many lines were beautifully crafted and stayed with me.

The pacing, however, was quite slow. It felt like it never really built up to anything, which left me a little disconnected from the plot at times. I also noticed a few grammatical issues in the translation that slightly pulled me out of the story.

Still, I appreciated the dual perspectives and how the characters' inner lives were explored. Their individual stories helped me reflect on how people carry pain, and how connection can bloom even in the bleakest of moments.

If you enjoy character-driven literary fiction with some VERY good quotes, this is worth picking up.

Thank you to NetGalley, Astra Publishing House, and Kyung-Ran Jo for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
