Have you ever read a book that was just okay, but within that just okay you see glimmers of what could have been? Well, that's how I felt while reading Hello, Sunshine. On one hand, I like Laura Dave's writing style and could totally see her one liners being uttered on the big screen someday. On the other, the story, and many of its characters, lacked likability. I mean what do you do when you don't particularly like your main character? But Hello, Sunshine is nothing if not a story of redemption. So Dave turns things around a bit in the last quarter. Still, to me, it's almost too little, too late.
