Night of Cake & Puppets by Laini Taylor

5.0

I loved jumping back into this world it was so refreshing and made me want to re-read The Daughter Of Smoke And Bone trilogy.

The setting was so whimsical and had a magical eeriness. The date was not realistic at all but that's what made it so much more exciting. Laini was on point with all the jittery feelings the characters possessed and over all it was just so adorable. Mik and Zuzana were always a fave of mine from the trilogy and I'm so glad I got to see their story. I love how Karou was interpreted in this story through text messages and you can tell their friendship is so real. The illustrations also did wonders and helped bring the story to life. This book was such a gem and worth every second.
