I liked this story but did not love it. It is well written and once Jax realized the treasure he has in Meg, he finally pulled his act together. I just found the bits of flashback when they met 5 years ago a bit much, not to mention that there was obvious chemistry between them when Jax barged in to save the day, so why the constant fight in his head about protecting and loving her at the same time? *sigh* I'm getting tired of these romances where they break apart for some reason, end up reuniting but fight the very blatant feelings they have for each other, only to realize they belong together all along? Pfft. I'm not knocking the author. Ms. Halston wrote a great story, full of action, great secondary characters, some suspense and hot sex scenes, it just seems to be the norm in most contemporary romances these days , is all. 3.5 stars. ***ARC provided thru NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***
