Even better than remembered. The power dynamic is super nuanced throughout the whole book, Alpha and Frankie are some of my favorite characters of all time, and it’s aged well. I used to love it for the comedy and story, and now I can love it for that and so much more. There’s a lot of powerful commentary here. Even if the commentary isn’t new, it’s rare to see feminism portrayed in such a complex way in a YA book, especially an older one. Every character has a perspective, and none of them are perfect people with the right answers. That’s my favorite kind of book.
