There’s a lot going on in this enjoyable paranormal mystery read. The central mystery isn’t really the murder, (because the police are investigating that one) but rather the reasons for Shay’s inheritance. This actually makes for an intriguing plot line, with the subplots being the deaths as they tie into this mystery.
By the end of the book, much of the mystery is solved, but there are still as yet unanswered questions for future tales.
Star of this book is undoubtedly Spirit, the mysterious, extremely intelligent, slightly magical seeming, good boy of a dog; though Shay’s bicycle might actually be another star!
An enjoyable, first in series story, this is an engrossing and interesting paranormal mystery, with a small hint of romance.
Recommended for paranormal mystery enthusiasts, and mystery lovers who don’t mind a little magic alongside their murders.
