annamoss 's review for:
A Complicated Kindness
by Miriam Toews
3.5 stars.
Like the other Toews' books I've read, here is a portrait of a woman a little desperate and lonely and sad - but also almost unbearably witty and insightful about her situation. There's a family coming apart at the seams. There's also the hallmark presence of the Mennonite community.
I didn't enjoy this as much as the other book by Toews I've read - but still definitely enjoyed it.
