Vespertine ~ Margaret Rogerson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What surprised me most about this book is that it stands out for its deviation from the typical romance-centric narrative. Her other books had a romance as main or sub plot which obviously shaped most of the story. But in "Vespertine", while there is a lot of tension between some characters, the story's primary focus is not on romance. Instead, it delves into the richness of the fantasy world, the challenges faced by Artemisia, and the intriguing dynamics among all the characters.
The plot unfolds seamlessly, with battles and mysteries that captivate the reader's attention, making it nearly impossible to put the book down.

Artemisia's journey is a compelling exploration of self-discovery and resilience.
Artemisia is an introverted soul, seeking to live in peace. It resonates deeply with those who grapple with anxiety and distance. As she navigates the challenges of her magical abilities and confronts the shadows of her past, I couldn't help but be drawn to her strength and determination.
It was beautifully portrayed how she struggled with relatable troubles, worries, and fears that often go unnoticed by others. Even small moments where she risks her live to save "unimportant" people, even though the revenant inside her head tells her not to, or feeling angry at herself after watching a fragile goat get kicked and regretting not stopping it that day.

One of the most compelling aspects of Artemisia's story is her not taking care of herself, so the revenant becomes the self-care police, making sure Artemisia keeps herself in check – Hilarious.
This dynamic is both fun and dangerous. It adds a unique flavor to the narrative, creating a bond between spirit and vessel that goes beyond the ordinary and adds depth throughout the story.
In conclusion, reading it was a reassuring journey for those who grapple with self-doubt, portraying a character who learns to embrace and love herself through the support of others. In a world where distant and shy individuals may feel misunderstood, Artemisia's journey from self-doubt to self-love is like a beacon for anyone who's ever questioned themselves.

❤️❤️Remarkable. Stunning. Unique Books.
