Know My Name by Chanel Miller

challenging dark emotional hopeful informative inspiring sad tense medium-paced

4.5

I put off reading this book because I knew it would be infuriating, and it was. It's still an important story, and Miller is a great writer. The book could've used better editing and organization, but she's a powerful story teller. I highlighted the shit out of this book, which is always a good sign.

Btw, as someone who attended University of Dayton for 4 years, and worked in Oakwood which is right next door, Brock Turner can go get fucked with his "small town Ohio" BS (among the heaps of other BS he spewed.) It's basically Dayton. And it's an affluent neighborhood. He acts like he grew up on a pig farm in the middle of nowhere.

He's such a piece of shit. This is what happens when parents raise their kids to be entitled fucks who never hear the word "no." Add our rape culture to the mix and it's the perfect recipe for violence and disaster.
