I wasn't lucky enough to grow up in the original uprising of Harry Potter and its first generation of fans. I have never experienced the desperate arrival of the next installment, or the launch parties and dates that people waited in mile long lines to get into. I was far too wrong to read Harry Potter when it first came out, but I am so happy that I have read it now.

This time in particular is the second time I've read this installment, and I plan to marathon the rest of the books this month in celebration of Harry Christmas to You. I loved every second of reading this and flew through each chapter with ease.

What I have enjoyed most about reading this book is seeing J.K Rowling's expert craft at play. She is the epitome of talent. Her world building is impeccably wonderful and her characters are some of the best I have ever read. Her writing alone keeps me reading, I think she is an absolute genius in terms of the written word. To think she crafted this entire world all on her own is astonishing and absolutely admirable, especially being a writer myself. I truly admire her craft.

Alongside that, the story itself is amazing. The elements and the world are all so original and unlike any other stories I have read, and it is understandable that no one else has been able to create a magical story quite like hers. I love the characters and their complex personalities that make them leap off the page. The imagery is fantastic, despite me watching some of the movies, I am able to create such vivid pictures of what her writing describes.

I loved this book, and am equally loving the second. I may not have been an OG Potterhead, but I have most definitely joined the bandwagon and all the hype is well deserved. If you have never read this book, which is probably a very small number of you, I can't recommend this book enough.
