The Long Way by May Archer

4.0

The book was good, but had some quirks in it. First off, Cain is not at all like the way like how he was described in The Easy Way, he had a completely different build and appearance, even the cover page of the book that is supposed to be about Cain was different than he's initial description, taking away from the continuity of the story somewhat. The book also never completely addresses the challenges faced with the couple, and this results in an unsatisfying HEA. While I get that story will continue and the whole SILA storyline will be addressed and concluded in the final book of the series with Sebastian and Drew's storyline, I would still like to have seen some if any repercussions for Senator Shaw. Also what's up with the mother and the sister? Like how do they handle Cain's coming out, does his sister accept him and does his mother eventually come around after he came out? Unresolved storylines that never went anywhere...

All in all, the book was a relaxing read with sassy mouthed MCs and an interesting and relatively low angst storyline. It just didn't have a satisfying HEA for either characters.
