The Bachelors by Muriel Spark

3.0

Could realistically be more like a 3.5

Spark's wit is in lovely form here, and there are charming moments in this whirly-gig of bachelors being bachelors in London. But her attention seems diffuse here, and the sharpness with which she peppers books like THE BALLAD OF PECKHAM RYE and LOITERING WITH INTENT is dulled because of it. Still plenty to enjoy, but her best work is elsewhere.
