Best of the trilogy with more adventure, more triples, more danger, more romance. There was also a lot of cyclical or karmic resolution; a well met expectation as the series closed. However, there was a lot of undeveloped possibility with the reincarnation of the two main characters that could have enhanced their stories. Likewise, there is a lot of unexplored potential for the ascended...what do they do with their lives? It seems strange that fledglings have to be so productive for the handful of years between getting their wing bones and getting all their feathers, then they ascend and have to ...wait?... for 100 years?
Although there is never discussion or crossing paths with demons, I was pleased by the way this book portrayed the 'fallen angel' concept.
This is a good example of how cyclical history is incorporated in the story with an inhertant mistrust for a character (Dov) who is close to Adam because we know Jarod's history with Tristan.
