The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post
by Allison Pataki
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this and got through it pretty quickly! Marjorie’s life was really fascinating and she had been through so much. Truly rags to riches. I’ve always been a history buff, so I already knew a decent amount about C.W. Post, but it was nice to get his daughter’s POV.
My one gripe with the story is that it focused so much on her marriages, and I would have liked to know more about her charity work. Once we got into the 1920’s and she was building a house every other day, it started getting less interesting to me, mainly cause I don’t feel like reading about ridiculously out-of-touch rich people lol. I think if we had gotten more of a glimpse of her charity work and other endeavors, I wouldn’t have ended the book annoyed about her extravagance and excess.
