About the Book: Burned remains of a newborn. Bags of bear bones. Bodies after a smuggler plane crash. Temperance Brennan had her plate full even without the psycho into whose crosshairs she stumbled in. The only question is, which bones got them on her tail.

My Opinion: Unpleasant fat shaming. You’d think an adult author writing an adult woman would know better than to mock someone’s appearance when their character is out of line, but this was outright nasty. On top of that, through all the books in the series there seems to be these same tropes of: whoever Brennan is in mortal worry about – spends the whole time of the imminent danger to them, real or imagined, outside of any phone service; Brennan is in mortal danger due to the case she’s on, and gets out of it with a very simple maneuver in a page or two near the end.
