Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
3.0
I’ve been in education for 16 years now and I never really had the desire to read this book/series. I decided to try it out to finally see what all the hype has been and why it continues to be one of my most circulated series in the library. It was okay. The main character reminds me of Dennis the Menace. A self-absorbed, egotistical young boy who does not seem to have any remorse for his actions. I do see the appeal to elementary and middle school kids. I had laugh out loud moments as I could relate to the content of Gregory’s day to day life and the obstacles he faces or creates rather. The sketches are fun and help move the story along.
