Honestly better than I expected. Not life changing, but fun.
I think the characters could have been developed far more, personality wise. Penelope could often feel flat as an adult, due to the main focus on her younger self. She wasn’t ever really anyone other than a person he talks to all the time who wouldn’t know a boundary even if she crossed one.
I really don’t like the friends to lovers trope when the plot relies on the two main characters knowing each other while the female protagonist is a minor and the male counterpart is much older, regardless of whether they’re platonic. The age gap is weird and the discussions surrounding relationships, masturbating etc. while she was a minor/in high school made it weirder.
Let’s not do that.
