i don’t necessarily hate this book, i just don’t think it is right for me. i love the concept, but the almost vague execution dials it down for me severely.

i don’t think the change of gender was intense enough, i felt practically nothing throughout the entire transformation. i loved the prose, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it got in the way of my understanding and i had trouble understanding if something was metaphorical or actually happening. i don't even understand the passage of time in this book. 300 years? did i miss something??? this book left me with more questions than i’d like, and im not really sure why this book was happening throughout most of it. why was orlando doing whatever she was? what was she doing? what was the ending? i still don't get the ending.

i would love to try out more of woolf’s works but this one is an acquired taste. it is too poetic for me, i think, and does not have too much plot development for me.
