The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband
by Julia Quinn
Whenever I need a light-hearted read, I turn to Julia Quinn. Her romances are charming and sweet, the characters likable, and the heroines more capable than the typical damsel in distress.
In a similar vein as "While You Were Sleeping," Cecilia Harcourt announces herself as Edward Rokesby's wife. And with any good "fake dating trope" (though this is a fake marriage), I enjoyed watching the characters fall in love with each other. Sometimes you just need a little happily ever after.
