Book seven in this excellent series begins with autistic detective George Cross receiving two pieces of news - one personal, one professional - that threatens to upset his well ordered life and among all that, a local bookseller is discovered murdered in his shop in Bristol.
Cross is part of the team investigating the murder alongside his partner Ottey who, as the series progresses,  finds ways of working alongside someone whose methodology is strange to many.
The story is very well structured and lots of strands which the reader and characters are never quite sure of their importance to the case, leaving me guessing (often wrongly) the outcome on a number of occasions! There's also an underlying subplot that was unresolved from the previous book.
It's a great read, clever, funny and surprisingly touching on occasions and one that I'd highly recommend especially if read in series order.
Finally I borrowed this from Bristol library which weirdly, is a few minutes walk from where a sizeable chunk of the book is set.
