This book brought on some conflicting opinions for me. I loved the twist but the rest of the book was a bit of a let down for me.
Let start with the fact that I really didn’t like the characters. Everyone was honestly horrible. This psychotherapist has farrrrr to much time on his hands, it’s giving jobless behaviour. Also the representation of working in mental health, yikes. While discussing it in the book club, none of us were sure whether this was intentional as a critique or if this is genuinely how the author thinks therapy works…
As for a positive: The twist really did get me. There is nothing quite so satisfying as putting the pieces together half a page before the reveal. Honestly that was brilliant and extremely rewarding. The book also read lightning fast. The short chapters, the writing style, it really flew by.
Overall though not totally convinced about it as a whole, the twist did make it enjoyable.
Ended up being a 3⭐️ for me
