May the Best Man Win by Mira Lyn Kelly

A fun start to a contemporary series about a group of buddies (+1 sister/friend) who, I'm presuming, each get their own happily ever after in their own book. The inaugural volume tells the story of Jase, whose wary about commitment after having his mom leave his dad when he was a kid, and watching his best friend's girlfriend cheat on him and dump him. Unfortunately, said best friend's girlfriend, Emily is now friends with all the women his friends are marrying, and because they are both super tall (she's 5' 11"; he's 6' 4"), they continually get paired up in the bridal parties. Kelly's strength is capturing the snipping and snarking of these two enemies as they go at each other while trying not to ruin the wedding days of their friends (or give in to their own physical attraction to one another). Sex of course ensues, but the book takes an interesting turn when issues about commitment come to the fore. And since both have issues in this regard, the seesawing back and forth in their relationship makes a lot of sense.

A first read of this author for me, but I'll likely be searching out her other titles, and looking forward to the next books in the series.
