Yeah so if Matthew Desmond writes something I'm gonna read it. A lot of this was things I already knew in the abstract, but learning stats and actual stories about people being forced into poverty by systems specifically designed to keep them there was...frustrating to say the least. I appreciated that he didn't just illuminate all the issues, but laid out concrete steps and examples of ways we as consumers can work to cultivate an anti-poverty lifestyle.
