Context: The protagonist has anxiety. Her guardian (uncle, from memory) has been missing since the beginning of book one but they find him about a quarter way in. He experiences memory loss. There are scenes where the MC fights off shadow monsters with Cad using a sword. Nimm nearly dies by drowning but Cad revives her.
