When typical folks hear the phrase “stalked by the kraken”, I imagine the words ‘quaint’ & ‘cozy’ aren’t what first come to mind. However, I’d bet they don’t visualize two neon pink tentacles forming a sweet little heart in the distance either, as featured on the cover, so perhaps gut-instinct isn’t what we should go on here.
To begin, a negative note. The ‘mystery’ element was somewhat tedious & far from mysterious. I am surprised anyone found even a moment of that storyline unexpected.
However, the premise is fascinating: a match matching witch with an ancestral, monstrous bathhouse. The world-building was truly stellar and I’m eager to revisit the series as a result. There are many side characters I’d be eager to explore. The intimacy between these two is compelling & they’re both fairly well adjusted. The breeding k1nk was
