DNFed it in 2020 at chapter 3. And then I picked it up again because of the new Dune trailer.

It was so much easier for me to read this time. Only because I got to see some aspects of it in the trailer. I cannot visualize stuff well so that helped a lot. I also listened to the 2 new music soundtrack to set the mood.

You must wonder, do I have to do all this just to get started on this book? No. I do all this for many books because my mind does not concentrate on anything for more than 5 minutes and fantasy and sci fi books usually have a lot of new information pouring in at the beginning.

As a woman and POC I didn't find this racist or sexist lol.

Okay back to the review. I loved it. It was an epic travel start to finish. The world, the people, the tech or lack thereof was so well thought out. I liked how the ending wasn't a hero comes to save the day! sorta thing. There's like an ominous set up to Paul in later books I feel. Nobody is black and white. The writing made it feel grand.
