It can be challenging, and at times even (dare I say it) boring - but this is a gorgeous piece of writing.

Perhaps my favorite bit is when Lurie tells his story in beautiful detail to a rapt journalist, whom he then finds the confused spirit of - so fragile, temporary, are our attempts to make sense of what we have been and lived and experienced - and yet we struggle towards them anyway.
