retelling a greek myth like atalanta seems like such a difficult task - there are limited references to the story in many of the most well-known sources, but the name and core elements of her stories have remained. atalanta being an argonaut makes the task even more difficult as saint strives to add detail to a classic story without changing its characters or plot beyond a subtle tweak
i think atalanta's motivations are still indeterminate towards the last quarter of the book - epilogue, however, was exactly what I wanted it to be
