I read this as a bit of what I hoped would be amusing research into what moving back to the states would be like after living in England. What I didn't realize (because it isn't explained until the last chapter) is that Bill Bryson never WANTED to move back. It is a very amusing read none-the-less just possibly a bit harsh on America.
