The Probability of Everything by Sarah Everett
3.0
I am… not quite sure how I feel about this one. I liked the protagonist, Kemi, but felt removed from the other characters, even her father, who was very important. In some ways this makes sense since the novel is emphatically from Kemi’s limited point of view. And yet…
I was similarly thrown off by the oddness of the community response to AMPLUS as it approached. I know that some of this was intentional & a lead up to part 2, but it made reading the first part of the book harder for me. Which brings me to the fact that I found the first part somewhat longer than it needed to be.
All of this makes it sound as though I disliked the novel. I liked it! It was an interesting take on grief & i think parts of it will stick with me.
