The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

5.0

A twisty 5-star read

I've been seeing this book recommended everywhere at the moment so decided to see what all the hype is about. And well okay, I get it now. I utterly devoured this one, I'm talking less than 2 hours start to finish. I feel like I have whiplash from all those twists.

The Housemaid is the latest standalone psychological thriller from best selling author Freida McFadden. The story initially follows Millie who is trying to escape a past she would rather forget as she takes on a live-in position as a maid with the Winchesters. But under the rich, shiny exterior not everything is what it seems in this house.

The book was fast paced, and hooks you right from the get go.  As I read I went back and forth about the characters, unsure whether I loved or hated them. I've never felt more frustrated or yelled at a book more than in the first half of this book.

I can't say much more without spoiling the story and trust me you want to go into this one blind.
Its easy to see why Freida McFadden is a bestselling author. Im off to dive down the Freida rabbit hole and not come up until I've read them all.
