It took me, like, half the book to decide that I like it, but I did like it! I didn't mind the time jumps all that much (i often hate them) and I thought the parallels between 'now' and 'then' were interesting and built the story well. I didn't really understand the significance of the diary entries, and the whole 'dead mom' plot didn't seem super relevant.
