I liked it. Solid first book of the series.

But here’s the thing: having an 18 year old running a massive company? Just no. I get what the author was trying to do, but it just didn’t work for me. If the kid was just dealing with public image issues, that would be way more believable.

As for the characters, most of them were pretty okay. They have distinct stories and personalities. I liked their development and the plot, even though it was a bit slow. But Grayson? *sigh* He’s like the epitome of entitled white frat podcaster rich boy syndrome—totally annoying and not at all enjoyable.

And the villain’s 'ultimate' plan
(aka the entire kidnapping)
? It felt like something a bunch of kids came up with during recess. Not scary at all. Even the FMC didn't take it seriously. So, while there were some good parts, these grand part really dragged down my enjoyment.
