Community Board by Tara Conklin
2.0

As a person who regularly checks my neighborhood Facebook page, I was very excited to read Community Board. While I loved the concept, the execution fell very flat for me. The development of Darcy Clipper, the main character, was rushed at the end, especially considering that Darcy's turning point was stolen from her. The community board posts were the highlight of this book for me. Many of them were funny and reminiscent of what a real neighborhood social media page is like. Conklin also did a great job of weaving those posts into the story in meaningful ways, which added much needed depth. Otherwise, I felt as though the book was full of missed opportunities. Also, there were no chapter breaks, only page breaks within three larger sections (and a fourth small epilogue-esque section). This may not bother some people, but it is a book feature that gives me a hard time.
