I read this book to get a taste of prof. Ariely's work before I started his MOOC on Coursera. The thing I liked the most about the book is that while he makes effort to present the research in lay terms, he nevertheless cites his sources, the lack of which is usually my pet peeve in pop science books. There are a few accounts where I would argue with the conclusions he draws but as the MOOC started two weeks ago some of my concerns were already answered in the extra reading material for the course so I'm guessing the full explanations suffered the usual high level of let's-cut-out-everything-non-essential that pop science books do by definition. I can't wait to read prof. Ariely's other two books!
