2204 Hunter Lane
by Marie-France Léger
First off, I love a nice southern accent… and Hunter Lane delivered. This book had the feel of a Colleen Hoover novel with enough trauma, romance, and good endings to last a while. I had been following this author’s journey on tis Tok and was extremely excited for her book to come out.
From the beginning I was delightfully excited by the kind of enemies to friends to lovers dynamic. Hunter and Marley went through a healing journey together and it was enjoyable to read. There was multiple povs and the last few chapters were quick reads but overall I wasn’t as giddy as I expected I would be reading this book. I thought the scene where they finally admitted their feelings and got together would be more dramatic but it just felt like it was there instead of jumping off the paper. I respect how much work and thoughtfulness went into this book! I would say if you like big city girl meets small town boy then you would love this, sadly I’m just not a big city girl.
3/5 stars
