Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel's War Against the Palestinians by Noam Chomsky

4.0

Tdlr: good soup

It is what it says it is- a compilation of interviews/articles/essays detailing reflections from Pappe and Chomsky on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict up to 2010. That being said, having a contextual understanding of the events from different perspectives (documentaries, lectures, and interviews) will be helpful in critically reading the back and forth dialogue and multitude of references made throughout this book (else it will go in one eye out the other as some chapters did for me lol). With context, I better understood the political and cultural landscape of the Clinton to Obama eras, which I knew little of prior to reading. Overall, as an American gen Z, interested in the truths of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, US bipartisan foreign policy, and the devastating impact of US hegemony in modern world history and today, I feel that any Gen Zs who have interest in scholarship and historiography on any of the aforementioned, will find this an impactful read and feel called to action- in particular- by Chomsky’s words.
