Reykjavík: A Crime Story by Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Ragnar Jónasson

2.5

a recommendation that i picked up on behalf of one of my best friends! the beginning was really boring to me but the second half was much more entertaining and i enjoyed trying to guess the mystery. i took a detective fiction lit elective in college and we discussed how in this genre there isn’t a lot of success with female mcs, so i appreciated how important sunna was here and i enjoyed reading her pov the most. i think this was an example of where a new translation to english may be a little lackluster in terms of writing style… too bad i don’t speak icelandic!
