Plutona #3 by Jeff Lemire

5.0

Unlike his previous creator own works which deal with extensive world building and even just a tab bit of politics, Jeff Lemire has created a smaller story of children, friendship and superheroes. Clearly inspired by the likes of Stand By Me and ET, Lemire spins it on its head with superheroic antics that are both familiar but also new. It's both harrowing but uncomfortable but also heartbreaking and hopeful. And this type of story also matches to the art of Emi Lenox which appears childlike but still superhero like that it doesn't take away from the story.
