Viper's Run by Jamie Begley
1.0
What. A. Nightmare. Second book in series.
If it had been a physical book I would have thrown it across the room. As it was I almost returned it to the library at hour 2 of the audiobook. I decided to power through (and speed up the playback speed) to see if Viper would eventually have some redeeming quality.
Not a spoiler because it was evident in the first chapter, no redemption arc, just 24 minutes from the end he is still putting Winter into uncomfortable sexual situations without prior consent and then gaslighting her into agreeing she likes it. (And coercion into future body modification)
Another emotionally fragile heroine groomed into marriage to the protagonist who lets the club members treat her terribly. Apparently no woman in the town has ever heard "past behavior is the best indication of future actions." Why am I still subjecting myself to this series? The sad answer, it was already checked out of the library.
