I thought that this book was fine, meh. It didn't scream great fantasy to me. The world building wasn't the best, and I don't think the romance was super well-developed here. It had a lot of modern language for a fantasy which is fine if you don't care. In the moment reading, it was a decent story but overall it's just average. I wouldn't say it is incredible and I don't know if I would ever re-read. I did also read the sequel which doesn't give me super high hopes for further down the line.
