I haven't read this since I was a kid and on re-reading it is just as good if not better than I remember as we follow Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad on their adventures getting out and about in the world, making friends and causing a heady mix of mischief and trouble, especially Toad! Grahame brings the natural world to life with his characters and combines this with various aspects of the human world seamlessly, even Toad car fascination seems perfectly normal in his hands. All I would say is that if yoou haven't read this, you should, if you read it years ago, you need to read it again and if you read it recently, good work. An absolute classic for young and not so young alike.
