Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

Imperfect, breaching sensationalist… but something about bardugo’s narration slices through my brain in a very pleasant way. I’m always intrigued by books that use magical systems to explore coming-of-age themes (Alex’s secret clairvoyance as a metaphor for her silent victimhood) and Bardugo’s not-so-subtle critique of capitalism is her signature at this point. Really enjoyed!
