spenstar 's review for:
Brian's Winter
by Gary Paulsen
Lacking of the drama that characterized Hatchet, this merely read as a "Brian got lucky a bunch of times and then got rescued" tale. No real rising or falling action - a bit lazy.
I suppose this is the brilliance of Weir's 'The Martian': at once brilliantly simple to read and yet not lacking in plot or difficult scenarios.
Perhaps I need to head back to adult books now.
