I honestly should have known better. I’m rarely in the headspace to read anything as dark as this book. It does have clear trigger warnings, and I’ve read and even own works by one of these authors. But there’s different kinds of darkness, and different ways of tackling these dark themes. While I’d handle some at the moment, this wasn’t something I can read right now.
