Did not finish book. Stopped at 28%.

The characters felt very flat and under developed, their meeting and subsequent friendship felt unnatural and unrealistic. I couldn't get invested in the driving conflict and mystery of the book. I may revisit this book in the future, but it wasn't worth muddling through for me.
