lauren asher is on a hot streak with this dreamland billionaires series!
i personally preferred the first book but damn that one was really good! i didn’t really like declan in the first book and i absolutely hate the boss/assistant trope but this book was fantastic. the author made me enjoy a trope that i avoid at all costs so GREAT JOB LAUREN ASHER THAT WAS FANTASTIC.
this book contained everything i wanted to have.
the perfect dose of grumpy x sunshine? check
the amazing built up tension? check
the grovelling possessive main guy? check
the most comforting female character ever that you want to protect at all costs? you know it: check
the “i hate everyone but you” trope? on fucking point
i love everything about this series and i’m so damn ready for cal’s story. he’s been my favourite ever since the first book and i know, i just know his story is going to be the fucking best. his friendship with iris, the main girl, was everything i needed it to be.
also, i loved how the author doesn’t need to include a hundred smut scenes for you to understand that the characters are really attracted to each other and that their chemistry is out of this world. nope, you can feel it in every single one of their arguments, i was already all hot and bothered in the first few chapters because their chemistry is through the goddam roof.
lauren asher makes me want to read books with the grumpy x sunshine trope every hour of every day. in one week she made me stay up until 5 am reading her books twice already. she so understood the assignment AND did additional homework. she’s an icon, she’s a legend and she is the moment.
