The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 67%.

I did not like this book. It started well. I was enjoying the writing style and easing into the story, getting to know the main protagonist but when we got to the House and met the other characters it completely changed for me. The dialogue was confusing and bizarre at times. The women were portrayed as very immature (despite their ages) and it just seemed very obviously written in the 50s. Also, it wasn't at all scary. Watch the Netflix series, it's so much better!
